Live Context All Around the Web: Pieces for Developers Web Extension 2.9.9

Live Context All Around the Web: Pieces for Developers Web Extension 2.9.9

The Pieces team has been diligently working to deliver a consistent, polished, and seamless copilot experience across the entire Pieces Suite. With this latest update, you will now enjoy the same Pieces Copilot Chat experience in the Web Extension that you have come to appreciate in the Pieces Desktop App and IDE extensions.

Live Context Support Across the Web

To ensure consistency across all of our products, the Pieces Web Extension now integrates the same shared Pieces Copilot that you see in the desktop app and other IDE Extensions. This means you’ll enjoy a unified UI and, most importantly, direct access to Live Context functionality within the web extension.

Having live context is great for research and helps avoid context switching. For instance, while debugging issues using online resources, you can pull in historical context related to the bug or error from your development environment. Or while reviewing a pull request on Github, you can get the context of the discussion regarding the code implementation/Jira ticket related to the pull request without having to leave the page using the Live Context feature.

Bug Fixes, and Performance Improvements

As always, this release includes several enhancements and fixes. Here are some of the key updates:

  • Fixed PiecesOS Connection Failures on Retry: Resolved issues where PiecesOS would fail to reconnect after an initial connection failure.

  • Improved Snippet Content Extraction: Enhanced support for extracting snippet content from specific code block structures, ensuring more accurate and relevant content extraction.

Pieces ❤️ Open Source

Our team has been hard at work improving the developer experience around building with Pieces SDKs. We’ve created copilot wrappers around the Python and TypeScript Pieces SDKs to simplify the interaction with your applications by providing a more user-friendly interface to the underlying Pieces OS Client SDKs. Now it’s a whole lot easier to implement a conversational copilot into your app.
